How I spent the weekend

I've got about 3 reports due plus 1 practical exam this week so basically I stayed home on Saturday and Sunday in order to do these and study. Every weekend is almost the same. I sleep late, I wake up late, I eat irregularly (lunch at 2-3 plus, dinner at 9-10 plus) and unhealthily (instant noodles and bread). I enjoyed doing this even though I know it's bad for me. Somehow I just feel so lazy to go anywhere or do anything else. It's nice staying home and slacking....although I do have reports to complete.

I did go over to Mantou's house (after almost 5 mths of being here) on Friday night for dinner. Chris and I spent some time at Toowong Shopping Village first because I had some toiletries to get, namely shampoo!! I don't know why I just love buying shower foams and shampoos and I always get different brands or different flavours. I think I just like the variety and the excitement of trying something new, no matter how small the item is. I didn't manage to get my shampoo in the end but I did get a lot of other things.....hahhaa.....isn't this what girls are famous for? Going to the store to get 1 thing but coming back with whole bagfuls of unnecessary items? Well, in defence, the other stuff that I purchased are not unnecessary; I will use them sooner or later (this is how I convince myself to buy stuff heh heh). We actually wanted to get our hair cut because my hair is getting quite long and the split-ends are proliferating like bacteria while Chris feels that her hair is out-of-shape. I feel really apprehensive about getting my hair cut by ang mohs, not because I'm racist or anything, but because I'm worried that they might know how to handle Asian hair since our hair is very different from theirs. Plus I wanna save the money if I can. After a lot of considerations, we finally went into the store where the girl there told us that they were fully booked. Fully booked my head!!! They salon was practically empty. I believe it was probably because we went at 4.30pm and the shops there close at 5pm. I think they didn't want to take anymore customers as they wanted to close early especially on the Friday night. Hmph!! She should have just been more honest and told us the truth; we would have accepted that....seriously!

Anyway Mantou and her housemate cooked char kuay teow for us. It was pretty good, not like the kind you can get at the hawker centre because they used seafood mix (prawns, sotong, clams and mussels) instead of fishcake but it was still nice. And of course the people at the hawker centre probably use lots of oil and lard to fry their noodles so Mantou's was a healthier version of that. We watched American Idol after that and I enjoyed the part where the 3 judges acted in a short "skit". It was hilarious, especially Randy Jackson. Carrie won of course!!! I had no doubt....hahaha....looking forward to her songs and album coming out. I think she'll be quite successful, following in the footsteps of Kelly Clarkson and unlike Fantasia the toad.

Roland Garros isn't going as well as I had hoped. All my favourite players have gone out. Santoro, Ferrero, Cljisters, Malisse, Mauresmo.....now I don't know who else I want to support. Definitely not Federer or Nadal because they have won too much already. I'd like to see someone else beside Federer getting the title. Well, at least Bob and Mike Bryan are still in the doubles. Pity I can't watch them play....all I have is the scoreboard on the Roland Garros website.
