Num Num Nummy

We had an impromptu dinner tonight, just the 5 of us - Chris, Mr Tan, Steph, Mil and I. A pity Tommy doesn't like bak ku teh so he and Wan Shi didn't join in. I cooked the bak ku teh using the ready-made spice bag. Just pop the bag together with pork ribs and some garlic and boil, boil, boil. Simple and easy. I don't consider this real cooking. It's more like, putting food together. Haha I also cooked peanut soup to go together with the frozen tang yuan (dumplings/Ah-Balling) I bought from Chinatown. Seriously, how can you consider yourself a S'porean if you don't know what Ah-balling is? I wish the peanuts could get softer but after 3 hours of boiling, I gave up. There must be some secret to it.

The bak ku teh was scrumptious. I don't usually take bak ku teh when I'm back home but over here, I guess I just miss the feel of eating it. It's definitely not my favourite food but even I sometimes crave for non-favourite food.

We got some feedback about the noise and laughter we've been making. Well, actually, we can't be sure that it's us and not some other unit. But according to Steph's and Wan Shi's friend, they've been disturbed by loud laughter for the past 2 nights and I don't think they're very happy about it. Strange, because for the past 2 nights (I don't deny that we were laughing loudly), we stayed in my room and I would have thought that being in the room would block out more sound then when we were in the living room. I also got feedback from Wan Shi's friend downstairs that she's been hearing the speakerphone and it's quite loud. Well, of course I wanna play with my "new" feature and you can't expect me to whisper into the mic right? Sigh, now I probably have to close my window whenever I'm using the speaker and try to talk softly. BUT you HAVE to talk a little louder than usual because the speaker isn't as clear as normal. So much trouble and just when I found out how to use the speaker and mic....
