It's an early Sunday morning and I just got home half an hour ago. I'm exhausted; I had to change a total of 4 buses to get home...where are the taxis when you want one? My feet are aching so bad; wearing work shoes for more than 10 hours is so not recommended. I should be sleeping because I need to be at the Singapore Turf Club later at 9 am but my bath has refreshed me for now and since I can't play my Warcraft because it keeps lagging (coincidentally, only after Keong and Dagen had their hands on it), I shall blog a little. I was at the Singapore Veterinary Association conference the whole day and even though I really disliked having to go, I did enjoy the presentations today. It is seldom that I actually stay awake and attentive for 80% of the time. I learnt a lot and they kept feeding us every 2 hours or so. I had my fill of smoked salmon sandwiches, yum!!! I also met my ex-lecturer from poly with a group of TP students and we had a very nice chat. She was quite amazed to see me and know that I was working for AVA now. She even mentioned that I'm all grown up now...ahem...those were her exact words. Well, I don't feel all grown up though I'm supposed to be one now that I'm working, earning a salary and all that. Strangely enough, Keong also said that he was the youngest among us when we went out for supper at Chomp Chomp last night. Yet, he was the one who had a car and was driving us around. The rest of us 'grown ups' either had no license or no car. How sad that sounds! Look at us, relying on someone who doesn't have a fixed salary and is younger than us... Ah well, as long as he doesn't start complaining about it. Plus I do try not to take advantage of his car. I don't treat him like a free taxi and call him up whenever I need a ride though I can't say the same for others. We were counting the number of years that we have known each other. FIVE YEARS! Perhaps that doesn't seem like a lot. My friend was just telling me how she's known HER friend for 10 years now. Still, five years and counting, we meet up regularly and chatter never ceases when we are together. This is the gang I feel most at home with and you know what? Under different circumstances, I would never have talked to any of them throughout my three years in poly and we would have never really known each other. Hence I must thank fate (and maybe GOD?) that things in my past have brought me this way. I am very lucky, in more ways than one, I know that. Even my ex-lecturer says so...
