It's A Happy Wappy Beautiful Day

I'm in a fantastic mood! Today is like such a wonderfully, lucky, unbelievable day!!!

It's a very simple explanation to this great feeling...
I just got a pay rise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I've known about this for around two weeks' now.
But they've finally confirmed this news and sent me an email notifying me about the exact amount I'll be getting.
PLUS I'll be back paid from June since this pay was supposed to start from June 2007.
Whooooooooooooooopeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I mention that I got the highest pay increment among my colleagues?
Not to be boastful or anything, but this makes me feel sooooooooo good....hahahaha....
I'm not sure why this is so, but....if they give it, just take it!!!
Heh heh heh...

More good news came my way later in the afternoon.
Even though Em couldn't play tennis with me tomorrow morning, I found out that the school courts would be open and the tennis gang would be playing tomorrow.
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!
I MISS TENNIS even though I've only missed last Saturday's session.

Oh yeah, when I got down at Pasir Ris MRT today and walked to the bus stop, the bus came immediately.
Usually I have to wait for 15 to 25 minutes before the stupid bus decides to show up.

Did I already mention that today is a super duper fantastically wonderful gorgeous day????????
*birds are chirping to me outside me window right now, theoretically of course*

HUGE SMILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A New Handphone Soon???

Many of you will know that I have been using my current handphone for 4 years. It's still in pretty good condition for a 4 year old piece of technology but I think it's time for a new one. I have been looking around and while I would love to get another Nokia phone, the recent Nokia models look like crap. They are all big and bulky and aren't stylish or sleek at all. Hence I was initially thinking of switching to Sony Ericsson. My dad has this $500 voucher so I want to make full use of it. At first I had already decided to get the Sony Ericsson W880i. It's the new super-slim phone at only 9.4 mm thick, plus the phone looks quite cool. However, it's also a MP3 phone which means it has a 1 gb capacity which you are essentially paying for and it doesn't come with a FM radio. Getting this phone would make my MP3 player quite obsolete. Still, it was the best I could find...until I received the M1 newsletter yesterday. There are TWO new Nokia super-slim phones coming out in September AND they both come with MP3 function and FM radio. Woohoo!!!

Check them out!

I'm eyeing the 6500 but we'll see how much it costs when it does come out in September.
Ooooo...I'm so excited!!!

Saturday BBQ and Farewell for Wen

My sister, Mum and I have been organizing for this Saturday's BBQ. We have been planning and purchasing food here and there for two weeks or so. I know the food's going to be good. My sister ordered beef rendang from this Malay lady in M'sia who does superb rendang. My aunt orders it for her Chinese New Year party every year and I always look forward to that particular dish. It's not cheap though, and the lady only cooks when you order a minimum of 2 kg of beef or chicken.

Initially, the weather looked bad on Saturday. It was raining heavily around 2 pm but the rain cleared up by the evening. I prepared Milo's seafood pasta and fried tomyam tanghoon on the day of the BBQ. My gang of friends (Chris, Mr Tan, Denyse, Kit, Keong, Mike) were invited as well and some of these "gamblers" came earlier to play mahjong. Heh!

Dagen kindly helped me to start the fire after I pestered him non-stop and as usual, the guests were late. Still, I got to play with the cooking with some of Wen's badminton friends and kept feeding my group of friends. Bascially, they were so lucky that I was doing the cooking for them. Wen was also busy moving around with cheese cake, rendang and other various food. My friends loved the pasta and rendang although some of them couldn't take the spicyness. It was nice to see Denyse enjoying the food because I don't know her that well and it's good that she seemed to have fun.

Strangely enough, my group of friends were making the most noise and were the most rowdy. I guess Wen's friends are more of the gentle or demure type whereas my friends don't care that much. We had tons of fun and laughter. The party ended around 10 plus and after clearing everything up, they went up to my room and played mahjong until 1.30 in the morning.

Saturday was super tiring after tennis, preparing food and entertaining people. But I think I was most tired from laughing so much. I had great fun this Saturday and I'm sure Wen did too. She got lots of great presents including this sheep cushion that vibrates. I like it so much and it's going to be mine while she's away in Netherlands. This adds to my collection of farm animals, heh heh heh...

Nelly Furtado - All Good Things (Come To An End)

Honestly what will become of me
Don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
Missed everything daydreaming
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?
Traveling I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets it and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?
Well the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon so that they could
Die die die die die
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to end?
come to an end come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?
Well the dogs were barking at a new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should stay away for a day 'til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling on the clouds were dropping and
the rain forgot how to bring salvation
the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon so that they could die.
