Chicken Rice

Yeah so we cooked chicken rice on Saturday using Mil's Prima kit. Must be expensive because I know the Prima restaurant in Centrepoint sells chicken rice for like $9 and a bowl of laksa for $8. Cheat ignorant ang mohs only!! Dunno why today dun really have much mood to write even though I've finished 2 assignements and got through the presentation. Even my post is so damn Singlish and usually I try to avoid it cos I wanna maintain my writing skills and keep them as English as possible. But today, simply no mood. Feel very disatisfied with myself and my life all of a sudden. Must be my PMS I think...I shld be fine tml. I always am...I get over things very quickly and seldom brood on them. Usually my method of coping with unhappy stuff is just to sleep. Once the night passes into day, my troubles are forgotten and it's a brand new day. I can't wait for tml to come...I feel very sian now. Friendster is not helping me either. Makes me miss my friends and family but at the same time, I worry what they will be like after not seeing them for so long. Of course there will be changes but how drastic will the changes be? I worry that I will have nothing to say to them when we meet up. I worry that it will be weird and awkward because we have lost touch. I worry that my tennis skills will disappear...Stupid worrying...time to go to sleep and blank out my mind...

Amazingly, I totally wasted my day yesterday. Mag came at 12 pm to have her chicken rice and we ended chatting for 6 hours!!! My god, we just got so carried away. I had 2 assignments due today too. Fortunately, I managed to get my report and reseach done by 2 am. Many thanks to my housemate for answering all my questions about IRR. IRR, IRR, IRR....now thinking of IRR makes me feel so sick and I have yet another IRR project coming up in October. Looks like my housemate hasn't heard the last from me...I really feel sorry for him...kenna bugged by me when he probably has better things to do. Sometimes I feel like I'm stalking him just to ask him stuff...so weird man...

Confirmation

It's been guaranteed plus chop chop confirmed. I'm going home on 25th Nov. OMG I can't wait! So exciting!!! It was a good thing I got my mum to book the ticket early. She told me that the flights are almost full already. Sometimes, it's good to be a little kiasu...

Damn Clumsy Today

Sometimes I really don't know what to say about myself. Just when I think I'm doing find, all sorts of stupid stuff come up. This week I've already managed to lock myself out and now, sprained my ankle. Well, at least my life is full of ups and downs, although I wish there could be less mishaps.

I had an 8 am lecture today and as usual, I woke up later than I should at 7.40 am. In the 20 minutes I had, I managed to wash-up, change, pack my bag and walk to my destination. Of course time was a little tight but I'm pretty used to walking fast. In fact, I always use my "rush for class" walking mode and I'm very used to the pace. Using this mode gets me to class on time but it's really bad when you're still blur, sleepy and your eyes are half-closed. A few steps away from my lecture venue, I had to cross the road. So I walked off a step onto the road and misjudged the distance. The road was actually lower and more uneven than what I had expected. Hence, I landed wrongly on my right foot and the ankle twisted outwards. Ouch!!! That hurt and I even tripped VERY obviously in front of all the other students. How embarrasing right? I tried to collect my dignity by continuing with my walk as normal as possible and pretending that nothing had happened. In actual fact, my right ankle was smarting but I could still walk so I thought that my leg was fine. My ankle didn't give me any problems for the rest of the day and I even managed to walk down to Hawken to buy some groceries. However, now I'm starting to feel some ache in the ankle and I know that it's not going to be fine after all. I've sprained both ankles many times so I know when it'll be ok and when it won't. Sigh......now what? Anyone has ointment for sprained ankles can lend me? I don't think Tiger Balm will help. Mantou told me to sleep with my leg on a pillow tonight so I guess I'll try that. Hope my pillow doesn't end up on the floor in the morning.

On another note, I've been doing some research for my report on Gonorrhea. I'm covering the part where babies get infected by their mothers. It's quite sad that the child has to pay for the mother's mistake and bad luck, just like the HIV babies. At least for gonorrhea, the infants can be treated if discovered early. Otherwise they end up with conjunctivitis and permanent blindness. I'm going to put some pictures of the babies. It's not as awful as the pictures I saw when doing my leprosy project last semester but it's sad all the same.

A close up look at severe conjunctivitis. Kind of look like something from one of those Jap horror movies huh? Taken from

The 5 Senses - Continuation

Home - Michael Buble

This is not an old song but I loved it from the moment I heard it (which is actually today). It totally depicts what I'm feeling right now (maybe you'll have to ignore the Paris and Rome part cos I'm not there). Yeah I wanna go home. Fortunately for me, Steph knew the song and the title so that I could download it and I'm listening to it right now.

"Home"

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm
Maybe surrounded by
A million people
I Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know
And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two “I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enoug
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that
Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I’ve got to go home
Let me go home
I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come home
And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
But this was not your dream
But you always believed in me
Another winter day has come
And gone away
And even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home
And I’m surrounded by
A million people
I Still feel alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know
Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all be allright
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

Stupid Me Again!!!

Alamak, I got myself locked out of my room again. I locked my room without taking out my keys because I was dazed from not feeling well and just waking up. The minute I closed the door I realised what I had done and started digging my bag, praying that my keys would miraculously be there even though I knew, deep down, that I had locked my keys in. I borrowed Wan Shi's phone to call David but he wasn't in (as usual). I was rushing for class so I had no time to make any other calls. In the end, I had to get Marie's number from Steph and send her a message to ask her if she could open the door. Yup, I was damn worried that I couldn't go home after class and would have to hang out at Chris's until someone opened the door for me. Immediately after lesson, I called Marie and asked her. She said that she had opened the door for me and that was good. Now the problem was, how am I supposed to get through the main gate downstairs and the house door upstairs? I didn't think any of my housemates would be home and even if they were, what were the chances of them hearing me ring the doorbell? I mean, I can barely hear the doorbell when my room door is closed, let alone them (their rooms are all further away from the bell)? Sigh, plus I didn't think David or Kristy would be home. I had planned to go down to the computer lab to do my assignment but anxiety took over and I couldn't concentrate (actually my butt was really itchy and I couldn't sit still). Kind Marie actually called David for me to ask him to let me through the door but luckily, Wan Shi was at home and she heard me pressing on the doorbell. Such luck!!! I was so glad to be home and my room was open. I really need to get a hook for my keys so that I will notice them whenever I step out of my room. Too many such incidences will just turn my hair grey!

Kitchen Cluedo

I woke up yesterday afternoon to find that our microwave was gone. Damn and I wanted to reheat something for my lunch. No one informed us beforehand that someone was going to take the microwave. In fact, I was even wondering if the oven had been taken by Campus Lodge management or some burglars. But then, the TV was untouched and the main door was fine. I went to check if I had any voicemails because Judy usualy leaves messages to inform residents when the maintenance people have to come up to our units. No voicemail, no letter, nothing. Hence we were left pondering when our microwave would be back and I was running through my head about what I could possibly cook which would not need the microwave. I found that I couldn't think of a single item. I ended up eating bread for lunch and boy was I pissed about it. I was so looking forward to eating the previous night's leftovers and now I couldn't. To top that off, I might have to use the stove to reheat my food and that is so troublesome. Then did I realise how reliant I was on the microwave.

I went out for my lectures and came back early from the practical. I gave Judy a call once I got back to ask about the microwave. She didn't know anything about it but she did promise to get back to me once she had it checked out. Hmm...she didn't sound too happy to hear from me. I guess once I had mentioned that I was from Unit 7, she knew that it was, once again, the same bunch of complain queens. Yeah, we do complain quite a fair bit...hahhaha...

I had to cook my chicken ponteh since I had already prepared the ingredients and the chicken had been thawed for 2 days. I cooked until Wan Shi got back. The minute she stepped into the house, she pointed out that the microwave was BACK!!! OMG I must have been so blind. I had been cooking the whole time and never noticed that it was back. Of course, the microwave was a different one but I was glad to have one anyway.

Then during dinner, I noticed that my tray of eggs had been messed with. The edge of the cardboard tray had been torn off and 2 of my eggs were cracked. I was pissed all over again. What kind of inconsiderate steals egg cardboard and leaves the eggs broken!! We were all trying to figure out who would want to steal cardboard until Steph realised that whoever took it had used it to prop up the microwave in one corner. This is ridiculous!!! The idiot who tore off my egg tray had no right to even touch it without permission. I am so angry!!!

The replacement microwave

The torn egg tray AND cracked eggs...

This is where the cardboard was stuffed.

Num Num Nummy

We had an impromptu dinner tonight, just the 5 of us - Chris, Mr Tan, Steph, Mil and I. A pity Tommy doesn't like bak ku teh so he and Wan Shi didn't join in. I cooked the bak ku teh using the ready-made spice bag. Just pop the bag together with pork ribs and some garlic and boil, boil, boil. Simple and easy. I don't consider this real cooking. It's more like, putting food together. Haha I also cooked peanut soup to go together with the frozen tang yuan (dumplings/Ah-Balling) I bought from Chinatown. Seriously, how can you consider yourself a S'porean if you don't know what Ah-balling is? I wish the peanuts could get softer but after 3 hours of boiling, I gave up. There must be some secret to it.

The bak ku teh was scrumptious. I don't usually take bak ku teh when I'm back home but over here, I guess I just miss the feel of eating it. It's definitely not my favourite food but even I sometimes crave for non-favourite food.

We got some feedback about the noise and laughter we've been making. Well, actually, we can't be sure that it's us and not some other unit. But according to Steph's and Wan Shi's friend, they've been disturbed by loud laughter for the past 2 nights and I don't think they're very happy about it. Strange, because for the past 2 nights (I don't deny that we were laughing loudly), we stayed in my room and I would have thought that being in the room would block out more sound then when we were in the living room. I also got feedback from Wan Shi's friend downstairs that she's been hearing the speakerphone and it's quite loud. Well, of course I wanna play with my "new" feature and you can't expect me to whisper into the mic right? Sigh, now I probably have to close my window whenever I'm using the speaker and try to talk softly. BUT you HAVE to talk a little louder than usual because the speaker isn't as clear as normal. So much trouble and just when I found out how to use the speaker and mic....

I guess I'll put up the photos from tonight once I get around to transfering them from my camera.

My bak ku teh!!

The happy group....all can't wait to tuck in!

Me and my tang yuan.

Dessert time!!!

"Present" From Tommy??

Oh my god, I've finally found out how to activate the "mic" function on my phone. Now I can make hands-free phone calls. Whoopee! So exciting....Steph and I were screaming when we got it to work after following Tommy's instructions. I mean, I've always known that Tommy talks to his family through speakerphone because you can really hear the voices even when the door is closed. But until today, I never really thought of asking him how it works. Now I've got the secret and it's hands-free all the way now. Hahahha...so exciting....

Ekka 2005

Here are the pictures from Ekka. Erm...I loaded the pictures in the wrong order so you're supposed to view them from bottom up. We also caught a splendid rodeo show at night where the Aussie and NZ cowboys competed in horse and bull riding. Watching the animals jump, run and buck with such intense power right in front of you was an awesome experience. Watching rodeos on the tv is nothing compared to watching it live. You actually get to see how they control the animals and the way the rider's body twists while on the animal is amazing. It almost seems like their spine will break into two at any moment. A total WOW!!!

Some of the game stalls where they totally cheat you of your money.

Amusement rides at Ekka.

Yay!!! I found another cute donkey at another place. Although I don't get to pet it, it's good all the same.

Happy to be at Ekka at long last!

My turn to take a photo with a lazy goat. Actually I wanted to take a photo with the donkey at this petting place but it kept running away. So I had to settle for this goat...darn!!

Chris with a fat goat(or is this a sheep?). What she doesn't know is that the goat/sheep is actually thinking, "Stupid girl, forcing me to pose with her just to take endless pictures for her own amusement!!!".

Chris with another miniature horse. Apparently miniature horses and miniature ponies are not the same. The ponies looked prettier with brown and thicker fur.

A tiny miniature horse! I probably weigh more than this small creature. Its fur is like a very soft carpet by the way. The owner was so nice to let us into the stall so that we could pet it.

This looks like the cow they worship in India if you ever watch National Geographic.

Look at these cows and bulls! They actually sell bull semen here and no, Mr Tan, the semen is not for us to drink as a supplement.

At the entrance of Ekka. We took the train going in the wrong direction hence we actually took about 1 hour and 30 mins to get here.

The 5 Senses - Continuation

Foolish Games
Hands
Stand
Break Me
You Were Meant For Me
- all songs by Jewel

Back when I still made use of my Sony discman, I would burn cds to listen to on my way to work and back home since the journey was damn long. Going down to Orchard Road every morning and listening to these songs became part of my daily routine. Jewel's songs from her 1st album were lovely to listen to and allowed me to enjoy the short naps I used to take on the MRT (provided I could find a seat, in fact I always could get a seat since I took the train from Pasir Ris). Ummm....so soothing....I really hated for the journey to end as that was when I would have to squeeze my way out the packed cabin and into another crowd waiting to change trains. More squeezing as the kiasu work people all tried to rush into the next train before the doors closed. People stepping on each other's feet. Rude Ah Sohs raising their voices going, "Es-cue-me" and tsk-ing all their way out. Fortunately, I was alighting 2 stops later and I always let these kiasu and inconsiderate people make their way into the train before I calmly walked and put myself right in front of the doors. Very convenient for me to alight then. Sometimes, if I was unlucky, I would get a "sleeper"; the kind who fall asleep and have their nodding heads lie onto your shoulder or chest. Hmph, after a few experiences of such people, I stopped being a nice kind soul and would jerk the person's head off with my shoulder. Then the person would wake up with a start, pretend nothing happened and tried to avoid eye contact with me. Hahahaha!! I did fall asleep once and my head almost landed on the person beside me. Luckily, she didn't do anything to me.

Going home from work was less enjoyable. Seldom did I get to find a seat until I reached Bedok or Tampines. By then, I was almost home and there was no point in sitting anymore. Sometimes, my colleague would take the same train as me and stop at Marina to change her train. Then, at least, I had some company for part of my long journey home.

It was a good thing I went to work on my own. I am so not a morning person so I prefer to be left alone until my brain is completely awake. I resent have to "entertain" a friend early in the morning when all I want to do it close my eyes and just space out. My sister understands this. She is not a morning person either. Back then when we happened to leave the house at the same time and take the same bus to work(for me) or school (for her), we would just grunt at each other when going our separate ways.

Con Air

This is one of my favourite movies. It got me appreciating Nicholas Cage's acting and I never get tired of watching it. It has also make me sit up and take note of John Cusack. Oooooh....he's really cute. He's not as famous as Nicholas Cage but he has his good points. At least he has most of his hair left, haha. I can't really put my finger on what attracts me to him. I especially like his mouth...reminds me of Andrew Seow although I don't really like Andrew. But John Cusack is cute; to me, he seems like the kind of guy who would be a real gentleman and treat a girl like a princess. His lips also look so kissable....hahahaha....*drool*....

My new favourite guy? Perhaps just for tonight. After all, there's no way he can beat my all-time favourite. Not even Brad Pitt.

Exercise

I feel a little more healthy today. I've been trying to cut down on my food and force myself to get out and exercise. At least I managed to go for a walk and sweat a little. It was also because I was totally disgusted by my lunch - fried beehoon left over from yesterday's dinner at Cybercity. I swear the beehoon was dripping with oil which I failed to notice last night due to the dim lights in the place. Eating the beehoon made me feel like puking and I drank 3 cups of green tea to make myself feel better. The walk helped burn off some of the fats I had consumed during lunch. No way am I going back to Cybercity and I highly advise you to do the same.

The 5 Senses

Sight, smell, sound, taste and touch. We make use of our 5 senses all the time. Isn't it amazing how a certain sense is linked to your memories? For instance, tasting a plate of hokkien mee may remind you of the time you sat down at a hot and stuffy kopitiam with a group of friends for supper after training. Or having someone walk past you and leaving a trail of Hugo Blue, allowing you to think of a certain guy who used to wear the same scent. Right now, I'm more interested in sound. I always listen to my MP3s on the computer unless I have work to do. I used the "shuffle" mode and as different songs are played, I start to reminisce. Here are some songs and how they trigger old memories constantly.

How You Remind Me - Nickelback
I 1st heard this song in a coach during Year 2 of my Poly days. I was with my team and we were on our way to NUS for the IVPs. The captain (PST) was playing this song on repeat and blasting it on his speakers. It was an extreme situation. I was nervous yet excited for this was to be my 1st competition. I was in a bus with people whom I was close and yet not close to. I remember the egg mayo sandwiches, the spaghetti Pam cooked for us (which was a nice gesture but does not change my opinion of her), sitting and cheering for our school outside the courts, having my respect for Alex drop to negative, growing closer to the girls because we had no one else to depend on and partnering Manda and losing every single match. Yup, plenty of memories tied to this little song. There was the usually quiet Phyo yelling like a madman, PST getting insulted by the high-and-mighty NUS player, Sam and Pam playing the ding-dong game and making us the last group to leave 1 night.

Go West - Pet Shop Boys
Melbourne 2005. Taking the day tour to see the little penguins and the Great Ocean Road. We had the same tour guide for both days; really a coincidence. Go West also happens to be the name of the company which organised the tours. He played this song on his IPOD at the end of each tour when he was sending us back to our respective homes. I shan't elaborate too much on this, you can read it from my previous post.

M2M
The songs from their 1st album reminds me of L. He lent me his M2M cd and I listened to it constantly until I could almost memorize all the songs. The songs are especially vivid because I had the biggest crush on him back then - until I realised what a jerk he was. I couldn't understand how I could have been so blind when everyone else around me knew him for the bastard he was. It took me a year to figure this out. At least it's all over now.

The Reason - Hoobastank
Starhub. My ex-colleague. Playing it over and over again without getting sick of it. Work every day, taking and making phone calls. Having to go "Good morning, Starhub" or "Hello, Starhub". Taking orders and being responsible for sending the phone and SIM card to the customer. Filling up never-ending forms and forever chasing customers to send in their documents for processing. Getting yelled and and cursed by unhappy and unreasonable customers. Feeling professional and satisfied when you close a sale and the customer goes away happy. Hearing it over the phone when I was chatting to her at night. It held a special meaning for her and now, there's a special meaning for me too. I don't listen to it anymore though. It's no longer in my computer.

I'll add more songs to my memory list bit by bit. Almost every one of my songs has a memory attached to it. I'd like to share it because memories are useless when only 1 person knows about them.

Ekka Here I Come

So we have finally guarantee plus chop chop confirmed going down to Ekka tomorrow. I am excited after I heard all the good stuff about Ekka. Can't wait to get there and spend money on unwanted and unnecessary stuff. Haha of course it's a huge waste of money but it'll make me happy. I reckon that the showbags they have are actually cheating us of our hard-earned cash but because they make people feel that it's a bargain to spend $10 for a bag of rubbish which you definitely can live without, people succumb and spend all their bloody money without hesitation. So, tomorrow I shall attempt to be like any other person down there and spend, spend, spend without using too much of my brain cells. After all, the whole point of going to Ekka is so that you can squander your cash on food, games and presents for yourself and then get high on the adrenaline rush like everyone else. No point over-analyzing about how they are cheating you (80% of the time, they probably are).

Some Old Pics

On a conservatory's steps. A kind stranger offered to take this pic for us.
Above the Yarra River. It was windy and cold...
The ceiling of the Melbourne library. Beautiful, isn't it?
The rose garden in the University of Melbourne.
Our 1st view of Melbourne in daylight. Plenty of Victorian-like buildings.
In the heart of Melbourne city.
Melbourne Aquarium...looking bored...
The rocks and blowhole.
Squeezing 5 people into 1 shot is not easy but I managed to get the photo out nicely.

The sea view was awesome.
Hee hee my big, furry, cuddly bear baby. Actually it's a baby wombat and it was heavy!
Eating lunch at a winery in the suburbs.

Stopping by this village to get lunch for the trip to see the little penguins.

Sushi Experience

I guess it's pretty obvious from the title that we had sushi. Mil had suggested a sushi night and also offered to help Steph and I dye our hair. Steph and I have been feeling quite bored of our current look and hair colour. Hence, we went out on Tuesday to buy ourselves each a hair dye kit. Imagine our excitement yesterday! Steph woke up so early and she kept fidgeting while waiting for Mil to come. The plan was for Mil to come up earlier to cook the sushi rice and do our hair while the rice cooled down. Plan indeed! In the end, we just played things by ear and prepared the ingredients before we sat down to dye our hair. Since we had started preparation late, naturally we ate late too. In fact, during the dyeing process, Steph and Wan Shi got so hungry waiting that they polished off a whole box of biscuits. I cannot put into words how funny it was but I did scold them for eating snacks when we had a great dinner ahead of us. If only they could have controlled themselves a little more! Haha it still was hilarious watching them run up to Tommy going, "Feed me! Feed me!".

Our hair dyes with highlights. Mine is on the right while Steph's is on the left. I admit, I chose it because the girl looks so nice. Hahaha...

Mil starting on Steph's hair.

Mil with her cute little newpaper apron which I made for her using string and duh, newspaper.

My turn with the hair expert.

Worried about Steph using my hair as her experiment. What if my hair came out yucky?? Can't do anything about it then.

Once our hair was done (we had to wait and wash twice), we could start bringing out the food and setting the table. Chris and Mr Tan came around 7 plus and the timing was just nice. So, the 7 hungry souls sat down and watched a demonstration by Mil on how to wrap the sushi. When that was over, 2 took the mats and did their own sushi while the rest watched. Wow, this was fun and looking at the full table, we had plenty of food as well. For the sushi ingredients, there was smoked salmon, cucumber, avocado, crabstick, crabstick salad, tuna mayo, tuna chilli, teriyaki chicken, fried cornflakes chicken, prawns and sweet egg omelette. I hope I didn't miss anything out. It was exciting to watch and try making your own personalized sushi roll. Of course, some made theirs big and full, some were neat and nicely packed and some were a little...messy. But it was all for the fun of it and while we laughed at each other, we had fun together. One of the most ridiculous things was done by Steph (what's new ah?). I had asked her to spread the rice onto the seaweed for me since the rice was right in front of her. She was so kind to oblige but guess what she was doing?? She went and spread the rice nicely down onto the sushi mat itself. No seaweed at all!!! Tommy and Chris were the only ones to notice and Chris was the 1st one to alert us. She exclaimed, "Steph, what are you doing?" and everyone's eyes went straight to her. Sigh...Steph, Steph, Steph....god knows why she did that. Tommy was the cutest. He knew she was putting rice on the mat even before Chris noticed but he didn't say anything and just kept watching her. Well, he claimed that he was trying to figure out what Steph was trying to achieve but maybe he was as blur as her and didn't realise what was wrong with her sushi-making efforts. Whahahahha....the house exploded with laugher, not for the 1st time that night and it was a good thing Kristy and David didn't come and put an end to our noise. We ate and ate until we finished 4 cups of rice (that's 8 portions if you didn't know) and had to cook another 4 cups. The second round wasn't as good because we were too impatient to let the rice cool properly so it was hot and a little mushy. Still, this 4 cups were polished off as well. What pigs we were last night!! Mil brought up some apples and pears saying that she wanted to make blended fruit juice for us. Yummy!! I really enjoyed mine (apples and oranges with no pears), but poor Wan Shi who hates fruits....well...we had to trick, connive, bribe and force her to try 1 TABLESPOON of the juice. We have it all on video of course, and I cannot imagine what her mother will say when she sees the video. It's amazing; she took more than 2 minutes to swallow the tablespoon of juice. The rest of us weren't that fussy and we drank our juices obediently. Hahaha....hey but I did enjoy mine and so did Steph! After Wan Shi's episode with her hateful juice, she went to threaten Steph with ginger tea and because I joined in, Steph threatened me with tomatoes, capsicum, mushrooms and vinegar with help from Chris. Aiyoh, these girls ah....so childish...tsk tsk tsk....hahahahaha....not like I'm any better....

Some of our sushi ingredients...looks yummy right?

Tommy sure looks happy with his sushi selection. That's prawns plus the cornflakes chicken and mayo.

Hmm...I don't know why Wan Shi looks so shocked here. Maybe it's because she is trying to show off her nicely wrapped sushi roll???

After washing and cleaning up, we sat down in the living room with our almost bursting stomachs and chatted casually. Mil offered to trim Steph's eyebrows (she really is our image consultant) and then, somehow, we started to tie each other's hair in different styles. Steph taught us how to do a French braid (I've been wanting to do this for forever and I still remember our failed attempt at it when we had 3 pairs of hands to work on it) and demonstrated on my hair. Then, Mil wanted to do her famous "kali pok (curry puff)" fringe for all of us. She also did the SIA bun and then a ponytail for me. I was her hair model...heh heh...After much experimenting and laughs, we called it a night and the party was over. Good thing too, I was absolutely exhasuted from laughing so much.

Pluck-ouch, pluck-ouch, pluck-ouch!!!

Very nice looking French braid. Too bad it makes me look like an auntie. Notice the highlights in my hair??

The SIA air stewardess bun!

Ponytail with the curry pok fringe in front. Hmm....it reminds me of the luohan fish's lump on the forehead...ewwww.....

It was a wonderful day. We plan to have a fish and chips party one day since our unit has the deep fryer. This shows that you don't have to go out and wreck the town to have fun. Staying at home to prepare a good meal with great fun is all I need and all I want. Drinking and clubbing? Nah....no thanks!!!

Now to get started on my work. I've been procrastinating for ages and it's time to finally do something about it.
